White people don't realize that HASSAN is a name when you pronounce it as hassaan it becomes another name. I know a man who has two sons Hassan and Hassaan both are very distinct sounds.

Any one particular pheromone molecule of these kids could be a better Indian Prime Minister than what the Indian public has discovered through all these years of pigged and cowed down faith.

I understand Hasan is a comedian and of course entitled to his opinion but dropping lines something like "Hating Muslims is a timeless" is a big deal and I think wasn't warranted in this situation. Indian Americans may not know that there's a lot of Muslims in India and they live harmoniously.

I'm half American half Puerto Rican and I feel u on the name lol. Substitute teachers would call everyone by their last names for attendance. Then there was that awkward pause were in their mind tried to figure it out, but they went for my first name, which usually was pronounced wrong too. You are not alone😉😂

As an Indian young adult who grew up experiencing many of the struggles these kids describe, I'll say that it gets better when you're older, trust me.
I'm currently 22 and at age 19, I never imagined in my life that my mom would ever accept my bisexuality, that my dad would let me go to a far away college/live on my own, or that my parents would accept my career as an environmental educator, my boyfriend and the fact that I smoke weed and drink occasionally.
The most important step you have to take is gaining your own independence and exploring yourself in that time of freedom. This is much needed for you to grow as a person and realize that you don't need to, say, pursue a career you're not interested in simply because your parents want you to. You can have agency over your own life. Your parents love you and will eventually realize that you're an individual with your own thoughts and feelings and they'll begin to understand and respect you as an adult.
The other important thing is honesty. This is key to building trust. I've lied to my parents about many things, but I never hid my true identity from them. I told my mom I was bisexual when I was much younger. She was very upset about it, and never accepted it until about a year or two ago. People change, including your parents, and as my mom once said, "your entire life, you never stop learning"
