Shot on location at drivetanks.com in Uvalde, TX
VERY VERY VERY SURPRISED that those watermelons twisted that cannon shell so much. It appeared to yaw upward at least 45 degrees, alternating the flight path upward in just a matter of 10 feet or so.
Should i even ask how you got a tank?
Except the other driving and fire ready Easy eight is called Fury and roams the fields of the Bovington Tank Museum..
Fire!! ... We bounced!
Isn’t that the same range where demolition ranch shot an episode?
If the melons were hanging the round would not have deflected.
Why do you say that?
Love how they're standing right in the path of the compensator. I would be intrested in seeing the slow Mo camera on his face when the shock wave hits.😆
Military should start thinking and do modification defensive using watermelon or other fruits. Brilliant!!!
12:45 Is the sparkles and smoke around the shell result of Adiabatic compression?
Is it me, or is that old mans voice sounded like a computer narrator?
14:22 The face AND noises Dan made when the shell got deflected. "wooo woooo ... chjskwoooo"
That one bounced!
Ah the good ol M4A3 [76mm] HVSS! A true beast
@infinitelyExplosive look at the road wheels and track width on the M4A2 and M4A3
I'm pretty sure it's an A2
when you know where there at because you recognize the tank... just me?
Is that truck spares or repair?😁
Gotta use a HE round next time
Who needs chobham when you have melons.
You should have titled this video "A botched melon job"
I would rather shoot it from the inside. That's how a tank is designed after all.
On the panning shots, what is the "frosty" stuff on the edges of the footage?
3:00 you can see them flying away
So you got a headache firing a 50 cal and thought this would be a good idea?
At this point the only bigger thing would be a battleship cannon
Tell me something. Does those hearing protectors you had in your ears really reduced the sound level?I had same (although I'm not 100% sure) but they don't reduce almost anything. This made me to buy big industrial ear covers to protect my ears from strong sounds. Also I put and some cotton that helped additionally.
Missed opportunity to shoot it at something more interesting? Than melons like at least shootbtue dirt or the car better
I must have watched this vid about 20 times since it was uploaded, I dunno if it is the slowmo I love or the total awe from Gav and Dan
Love the shockwave on the tip of the bullet
Alright, all you need is a wall of watermelons to deflect anti-tank gun shots!
You guys are freak
wow this made my day
3:01 Dans safety glasses literally get blown off of his face lol. I didn’t believe it at first and had to rewind but they did blow off!!
The facial expression when he was pulling the cord was very 'Wallace" as in Wallace and grommet!Just saying :)By the way Wallace and Grommet are cool!
RIGHT IN THE BOTTOM OF TEXAS 0:30
That shell landed 12 miles down range.
best scene 13:38
I put it in 0.25 speed !Thank me later ! 😊
that is probably the coolest things i’ve ever seen
Imagine being one of the 2k people that disliked the video.
Around 8:41 - 8:42 if you look towards the top of the trees, you can actually see how the rifling along the round affects the wind.
It would be nice if u try kv 2
This is some of the best footage i've ever seen! Cheers to you both for the awesome video!!
that 122 mm overthere? i think its a property of World of tanks
World of tank player hit like...!😀
When you nutt but she keeps sucking 14:23
Why waste all the time on the tank? Should have just started with the big one
Oh my God! A Sherman working 😰
I’m very jealous that dan got to shoot big guns
Why does the speed bends light?
So it doesn't really bends light?
Do you mean the shockwave coming off the front and rear of the shell? That's the air being compressed to the point where it has different optical properties.
In WW2 it was a well known Russian tactic to strap tanks full of watermelons. To deflect incoming artillery shells.
Next up, railgun
nice video ever
Who needs schlieren imaging when you have high speed
This is a really interesting time for this to pop up in my feed
Shooting the 88mm tiger 1 or 2 when
AwesomeEdit: I'm gonna put some melons on the sides of my stuG 3 jaja
Projectile is keyholing...sad.
